Oh Nuts, Donuts

So much for being more dedicated to my blog!  Every time I start to think of something to blog about I am nowhere near a computer, super busy, or feel like I'm stealing ideas from other blogs.  So... I haven't blogged in awhile.

Since December 2012 I have been slowly changing my dietary habits, and increasing my activity levels.  It has paid off (slowly, but still)... I have lost 26 pounds so far.

The changes I made were small, and slow changes, and for the most part, I don't miss those old junky foods I used to eat.  But every now and then, one of my taste-buds will say "dude, remember donuts... they were like, totally awesome"... and another of the buds will join in, "yeah, those were good times"...  Yet another, "what do say we grab one, ya know, for old time's sake?"  And then I have to be the villain... "HEY QUIET DOWN BACK THERE"!  The Buds all yell back, "OH YEAH, Why don't you go bite a big donut ya old lady"!!!!  My retort.... I'll show you!  And I chug down a glass of water, and maybe follow it up with some fruit.  Then I promptly distract myself completely!!!  Sigh.  Donuts.

Truthfully, the benefits of feeling better, and being more comfortable with myself are far better than any donut could ever taste.  I don't deny myself completely though... I just have to choose and limit.  I had a mountain dew this morning, it's been probably a month and a half since the last time I had any mountain dew.  And it will probably be that long, or longer, before I drink another.   So.... maybe in another week or so I might have myself a little treat.... and shut those pesky taste buds up for another month or so.
